Since the dawn of the 20th century, the Puget Sound and Alaska have built enduring and mutually beneficial economic ties.  According to the recent Ties That Bind report, this relationship is worth $6.2B in wages.

However, it has been over a decade since Puget Sound business and elected leaders have visited Alaska to re-affirm those ties, and the time is now to rekindle that relationship.

This fall, the Alaska Chamber, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber’s Alaska Business Forum, Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and Washington Maritime Federation will be hosting a select delegation of business and government leaders from Alaska and the Puget Sound region for two days of meetings in Anchorage and Kenai, AK. The intent of this summit is to examine the dynamic economic connections between Alaska and the Puget Sound and shared economic development opportunities shaping the future of this unique and important relationship.

Key issues identified during the successful advanced trip last November have shaped the agenda for the more comprehensive summit in October 2016.  We will now focus on developing a common agenda for economic diversity and prosperity. We are seeking sponsorship for the Alaska and Puget Sound Leadership Summit that will take place alongside the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Convention, effectively connecting critical decision makers.
